The Y2K aesthetic is back. “Newstalgia” (or “nowstalgia”), a term referring to something brand new that harkens back to something old. We are seeing a return to everything retro, from the prints and patterns of the 1990s to the furniture styles of the early 2000s, reminding us of simpler times. In designing Y2K, we thought of a digital backdrop in bright neon colors, consistent with what we now call “Instagrammable walls”-the Instagram generation will tend to appreciate more eye-catching interiors to share on their accounts.
